Alliance with Education To Go brings world-class content to 1,900 colleges, universities and other training providers Washington DC (September 7, 2010) – The National Glass Association (NGA) today unveiled a national alliance with Education To Go (ed2go), a part of Cengage Learning, and a leading education and training content provider. This alliance will allow the NGA’s best-in-class training and certification programs to be available, through ed2go’s vast partner network, to students at more than 1,900 colleges, universities, community organizations and other education providers across the United States. ed2go will officially launch three National Glass Association Career Training Programs on Tuesday, September 7. The three programs, Certified Auto Glass Technician, Certified Architectural Glass Technician, and Certified Window and Door Installer, will include nearly 200 courses now offered on the NGA’s online training platform, MyGlassClass.com, as well as the Window & Door Dealers Alliance’s sister site, MyWindowClass.com. In addition, each career training program comes with a 40-hour unpaid internship for further student learning, a training manual, and a voucher for students to take the appropriate certification exams through National Glass Association. “We’re very excited about the extended reach ed2go will provide for the content originally developed for our training platforms,” said Phil James, NGA President and CEO. “Students will now have access to a comprehensive array of courses in auto glass, architectural glazing and window and door installation. What's more, ed2go allows us to penetrate the local communities where our members are located, helping to build a safer and more skilled workforce for our industry and its customers for years to come." The NGA’s training programs will comprise a new segment of ed2go’s skilled trade Career Training Program catalog, providing an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their skills in this industry. “We are honored that our content has been recognized by a nationally acclaimed organization like ed2go,” said David Walker., NGA Vice President of Association Services “They are extremely selective in the online courseware they offer through their network, so this alliance is a positive reflection on our work, as well as that of our educational alliance partners.” MyGlassClass.com and MyWindowClass.com, the learning management systems behind each career training program, offer internally developed content, as well as courseware produced in collaboration with other respected industry organizations, including Architectural Testing, AAMA, IGMA, GANA and Contact Point.
