Edgetech to Discuss Challenges and Opportunities with Bent I.G. at GPD China

April 29, 2009

This year’s Glass Performance Days (GPD) China, to be held May 11-12 in Shanghai, will focus on the role glass plays in energy management. Edgetech I.G., manufacturer of the Super Spacer® warm edge spacer system and related fenestration products, will take part in the dynamic conference with a presentation titled ‘Challenges of Bent Insulating Glass,’ which will be presented by the company’s technical director, Tracy Rogers, on May 12 at 11 a.m.

Bent glass is formed by applying heat and forming glass over a curved mold, providing a unique design element that architects are using more frequently as a point of differentiation.

“Bent glass is gaining popularity, but there are special considerations that must be taken into account when working with bent IG to ensure optimal energy efficiency, sustainability and manufacturing efficiency,” Rogers said. “During our GPD China session we will cover durability concerns, as well best practices for fabrication.”

Rogers has more than 20 years of industry experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s Certificates in Business Management and Advanced Marketing Strategy. Rogers is actively involved in industry trade organizations and currently serves on task groups and committees for AAMA, IGMA and GANA.

GPD is organized bi-annually and is considered the largest international glass conference with several workshops, glass product exhibition and versatile social activities. For more information on GPD and this year’s programs visit www.gpd.fi.

Edgetech will also present at GPD Finland June 12-15. Visit www.edgetech360.com for more Edgetech news and upcoming events.
