Matteo Schiavonato is Deputy Head of Glass for Building Department at Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro in Murano, Venice, Italy. He has been working for the company since 1996.
He is an expert on mechanical properties of glass particularly on flat glass for building application (Thermally Treated Glass, Laminated Glass and Insulated Glass Units).
Schiavonato is a member of CEN TC 129 (WG 2 – WG 15 – WG 18) as representative of UNI, Italian National Body of Standardization.
He is involved as auditor in voluntary certification on Glass for Building in Italy (UNI Mark).
In the last two years he was involved in the study of correlation between non-distructive optical measurements of stress and mechanical strength of glass, also in cooperation with other specialist (mainly with Alex Redner - USA).
