Calderone and Associates Pty Ltd

Dr Ignatius Calderone is a Director of Calderone and Associates Pty Ltd, Consulting Engineers based in Melbourne Australia. His expertise is in the areas of building façade design particularly with respect to all aspects of glass, including diagnostic investigations of glass failure, structural glass design and solar/thermal performance.

Ignatius commenced his career at Pilkington, where he held various positions ranging from Process Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Manager Technical Advisory and Consultancy Services and Technical Manager, Architectural Division. During this time of more than 22 years, his responsibilities ranged from manufacturing process development, to quality assurance, design of glass and glazing systems and investigation of product failures.

After leaving Pilkington, Ignatius completed a Doctorate in the field of wind effects on building glass, conducting experiments on over 400 full size window panels of annealed, toughened and laminated glass. Thus, his knowledge on the behaviour of glass under wind loading is invaluable in the design of glass in buildings.
