Piero Ercole

Born in the year 1934, I graduated in industrial chemistry at the Turin (Italy) University.
From 1960 to 1970 I worked for an important R & D institute owned by the most important Italian chemical industry (Montedison). During this time, I did a lot of experience in petrochemical chemistry and, in particular, in monomers production and polymerisation technologies.
From 1970 to 1997, I worked for AVIR group that, during that period of time, grew so much to become one of the biggest glass containers European producers.
After a first period of time during which I made experiences in each process sector both for technology developments and for production optimization, I became Technical and Production Director of the entire Group.
From 1997, one year later the Owens Illinois AVIR acquisition, I started my consultant activity to glass companies, in general, and to raw materials suppliers.
To day, cullet recovery from glass containers ecological collection and from cars end of life is involving me very much because give me the possibility to study new recycle technologies and new raw materials for the glass industry and, in the same time, to solve environmental problems and to generate energy from polymers present both in glass container ecological cullet and in glass from cars end of life.
From the year 2000, I am President of ATIV (Italian Association of Glass Technicians) that, each year, organize an International Congress based on selected subjects with speakers coming from European and overseas Countries.
