Mr. Rakus graduated as a physicist 1996 from Technical University of Brunswick. His diploma work was accomplished at Fraunhofer Instiute for Coatings and Surface Technology. 1997 he joined the AUDI AG, Ingolstadt and was responsible for the testing of car glazing. 1999 he took over responsibility for process engineering at EPCOS AG, Munich.

2003 he changed to the R&D department for body panels and glazing of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Since 2006 he works in the fields of adhesives and glazing at the Central Lab of Volkswagen, Wolfsburg.
