Freek Bos works as a Ph.D. researcher at the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture, where he graduated in 2002 (specializing in both Building Technology and Architecture) on form-finding as a design tool for fluid architecture.
His Ph.D. research on transparent structures involves the development of safety requirements for glass structures that can be set a priori on one hand, while on the other hand developing design concepts with which those requirements can be met. Within the design concepts, special attention is given innovative techniques like welding glass and applying polymers in joints.
In 2004, he was responsible for the design and coordination of the All Transparent Pavilion project, which was extensively published at the GPD 2005. Bos also works as a freelance editor to several Dutch professional journals.
