Stephen Bennison

Steve Bennison works on programs related to the development of polymer interlayers for laminated glass.
Since 2001 he has been working for DuPont’s Glass Laminated Products business unit as a Research Associate.

Bennison received a B.Sc. (Hons) in Ceramics from the University of Leeds (UK) and then an M.S. in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA USA). Upon graduation he took a position as Guest Scientist at The National Institute of Standards & Technology, NIST, (Gaithersburg, MD USA) and worked with Brain Lawn on microstructure/mechanical property relationships in brittle materials. In 1992 he joined E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. Inc. (Wilmington, DE USA) and worked as Senior Research Scientist in Central Research & Development. In this assignment he led many research and technical efforts into physical behaviour of materials, adhesion and interfacial phenomena, corrosion of materials and computational materials modelling.
