This paper introduces specifications of four different glazing types and their intended performance testing. These glazing types are installed in four daylight test chambers, which are part of a building retrofit design to turn a 3000m2 office building in Singapore into net zero-energy building. Design, construction and monitoring of the building is a research collaboration between the national Building Construction Authority as lead organization and researchers from National University of Singapore with international collaborators and appointed local consultants. Completion is scheduled for July 2009 followed by an evaluation period of one year. This paper presents the glazing specifications, experimental set-up and initial computational simulations. Comparisons between measured and simulated performance as well as correlations with user surveys will be part of subsequent studies.
