Design of the Contemporary Glass in Egypt

Glass is one of the most utilitarian and aesthetic arts, which is indispensable nowadays. The ancient Egyptians had excelled it before the dynasties era in making glassy eyes, Jewelry masks, statues and cascades. After that it started to be for more realistic, utilitarian and aesthetically purposes.
The artists of this period left many works showing their art cleverness. It kept this way till after the European Renaissance. It generally turned to an independent creative character free from decoration and got its own rules and demands through several developments among its aesthetically concepts and artistic knowledge.
The glass art started to deal with religious stories in churches and cathedrals windows and got its own rules and demands through several developments among its aesthetically concepts and artistic knowledge. And then, Different schools in art theories showed up and used pure art as a creative work. Thus, the art in general took the artistic creative style, which is independent from decoration and architecture. And I assure that the Islamic era is closer to the pure art theory because of its interest in the decoration and writings. Which feels spiritualism through the invisible elements in the glass works and arabesque with its decoration with gold as it makes it relevant and compatible with aesthetic value of the glasswork. Then came The Tolonide Era and cared about flat colored glass overwhelming by a style going away from transferring illustrated classical content.
Decoration art and engraved writings on Stucco colored glass works named as "Shamseias" and "Kamareias" have so much developed.
These works expressed the wonderful designs that were executed in this period especially in Egypt where the Islamic civilization was still and will continue donor with all lighting and richness of the artistic life especially in the field of glass.
