Mario Brunn, Sefar AG
Today, glass is an everyday object for all of us. Also in architecture it plays a very important role. Huge buildings are covered completely with glass, but also smaller architectural elements are made of this material. Just think of balcony covers for example. Also indoor it is used more and more. Those of you who are travelling a lot and are spending quite a lot of time in hotels maybe have already seen room dividers made of glass separating the bathroom from the bedroom. In office buildings glass is used for room dividing, too, separating the offices or meeting rooms to reduce the level of noise and to allow confidential negotiations. And who does not know shower cabinets made of glass. But although glass is everywhere, most of us even don’t see it anymore, it is just there. By nature, we are inclined to look through it rather than at it. But because of the simple fact that glass is used everywhere it was only a question of time that the decoration of glass has become more and more important.
