Today’s automotive manufacturers are demanding that every backlite grid be perfect when it arrives for assembly. The grids have become more intricate and thus more difficult to test. A new Grid Software can accurately check the entire grid in less than 2.3 seconds and test the grid resistance independent of the glass temperature. This system provides a 100% detection of broken grid, low or high resistance and hot spots on the backlite. The work station is simple, the software is easy to operate and the results are “Only good windows are passed” onto the automotive manufacturer.
Since Ircon first introduced the system it has become widely used throughout the industry and is rapidly becoming the accepted standard. In response to user feedback several major enhancements have been introduced. A unique web server provides images of the failed backlite and archives the image for future reference. The failed images can be forwarded to remote viewing stations and can be used to mark the defective backlites automatically.
This presentation explains how the system can improve productivity by providing real time feedback for plant operations.
