Moisture Induced Delaminations in Automotive Windscreens

Windscreens with low pummel adhesion have
historically been a major concern for edge
delamination upon transportation and storage in
high humidity environments. A test is described
that can characterize the inherent delamination
potential of polyvinyl butyral interlayers (PVB)
and comparative data is shown for different PVB
chemistries.
