Solar control of laminated glass is typically achieved by utilization of metal-coated glass or a solar control PET film. These conventional products can have problems however, such as electromagnetic attenuation, failure to adhere to a coated layer, and optical distortion. Solar control PVB film (SCF) can provide heat (Infrared ray) reduction features in laminates without sacrificing electromagnetic wave transmission or other qualities as an interlayer film for laminated windscreen. In this study, the following items are discussed to show the benefits of SCF.
1. Optical Properties
2. Thermal Properties (Reflection vs. Absorption, Thermal Skin Sensation)
3. Electromagnetic Transparency
4. Other Issues (Corrosion, Process Complexity, Moisture Insensitivity)
