The multi-functional aspects of laminated window glass with IR reflective solar control coated PET for automobiles provide many benefits to both customers and manufacturers. Composed of PVB and a PET interlayer, it reflects infrared heat energy, reduces UV degradation, reduces sounds entering the car, increases security, and generally makes the driving experience much more comfortable for all occupants. For manufacturers it offers significant ease and flexibility of production. The film and process is easily transferred to remote lamination locations to allow production at normal automotive lines. The interlayer film can also be designed for use in windscreens, side lites, or back lites, and it can used as an integral part of heating and antenna systems as well.
