The Use of Glass in the Automotive Industry

As a material, glass is being increasingly used on cars, and strongly contributes to their design. At this high level of use, it has to satisfy more and more customer's expectations, such as visual comfort, thermal comfort, .... However, the development of a glass part compared to the development of parts formed from other materials seems to remain more difficult. Capability of matching the complex shapes of design
requirements, process feasability, respect of development schedules respect of quality standards.... are the main issues. A comparison with the methodologies used for the other materials is going to be presented as a tentative way of progress.
