Absolute Automotive Glazing

With its increasing use above the belt-line, modern automotive glazing has become a prominent feature and a key element in automotive design and styling. With the thrust toward lighter automobiles and the increased use of auto glazing, the glazing is becoming a more significant percentage of the total automobile weight. The use of new products such as composite glass, tempered thin glass, glass/plastic bi-layers, and asymmetric glazing may allow a substantial decrease in glazing thickness, thus providing an opportunity to further reduce total automobile weight.
