Modeling of Thermal Behavior of Bending Furnace Utilizing Convection Heating

Principles of existing bending furnaces are shown and their benefits and shortcomings are discussed. Heat transfer theory of thermal behavior of the glass in a furnace is given and applied to a new type of furnace, in which energy needed for heating is minimized. In addition to theoretical results also measured data of a real furnace is given.
