Glass cutting optimisation software is used to
create cutting patterns automatically with
minimum waste. In cases of tens or hundreds of
different order sizes the limitations of dispersion
of order size positions into different patterns
during cutting production must be considered
because of practical limitations of glass rack
usage.
This paper will discuss different methods, like
group optimisation, pairing and prioritising
techniques, which are used to solve the
dispersion limitations of glass cutting by
optimisation software. An advanced sequencing
method with the direct limitation of maximum
number of glass racks is described with
discussion of use of pre-defined rack information
as an production sequence.
Short analysis of usefulness of dispersion
limitation methods for different types of order
data and for different branches of glass
processing industry is also included. The
sequencing with the limitation of number of racks
widely solves the practical needs of glass cutting
but other techniques are also needed.
