The Removal of Inorganic Particles from Rawglass Surfaces

Inorgançc substance based stains develop on
glass sheet surfaces due to inapprpriate
transportation conditions. These stains create
problem in both pre-processing and tempering
operations. Although mechanical removal of
these stains is possible, chemical removal is a
preferred technique due to it both being cheaper
and easier. Certain additions to the pre-wash
water of the glass washing machines remove
stains completely and improve the washing
quality as well. The chemical reaction and
industrial application aspects of this technique as
applied experimentally in Trakya Otocam Plant is
explained.
