Tarnishing-resistant Lead-free Silver Paste for Automotive Backlights

Dr. Roland Billing, Detlef Rehorek

Electrical conductivity, reverse colour, solderability, chemical and mechanical resistance are key properties of conductive layers formed upon appropriate firing of conductive pastes on flat glass. These properties are mutually dependent on each other. The interaction of conductive pastes with underlying black enamels may give rise to a number of phenomena such as blue discolouration and silver show-through which will be discussed.
