A ceramic enamel band is applied around the perimeter of the majority of automotive glass parts PPG industries produces today. While most car owners probably overlook it, the band is a critical component of the automotive glazing system. It prevents ultraviolet radiation from degrading the adhesive that holds the installed part in the vehicle frame and adds an aesthetic element to the glass.
