Product research and development has concentrated mainly on achieving greater strength of adhesion, optimum performance on a wide range of materials surfaces, and in varying climatic aging conditions.

With the introduction of ELV (End of Life) Directive from the EU and the already started new trend of the car manufacturers, introducing modular vehicle construction, the increase in adhesive systems is most guaranteed in the evolution of the car and other products. The ILIPT project in the EU is investigating this trend now, and has extended it into De-Bonding the adhesive. This has lead to New Thinking about adhesion, including a De-Bonding, incorporating a reversible bond from new, to dismantle parts, quickly, cleanly, at low cost for ELV, or small repair replacement...
