The Real Need of Solar Control Glazing in The Automotive Sector

The solar control glasses, IR absorbing and/or
reflecting, passive and active, have been detailed
treated, since ten years, several times without
giving the actual possible balance or real
performances in terms of energy solar reduction,
eventual advantages on power air conditions,
forward and backward visibility, better comfort
related also to IR and UV absorption and finally
color coordination. It is time to consider the solar
control glasses in terms of new processing inside
the glass technologies to verify the convenience
of innovative approaches by the glass maker and
transformer. The best technology has to solve the
globalization of the marketing demand among the
already competitive solutions which, so far, have
satisfied only partially the car makers and
designers.
