Introduction to China compulsory product certification of safety insulated glass units used in buildings

On July 12th, 2006, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) issued announcement No.15 [2006]. It is regulated that starting from July 12, 2006, the safety insulated glass units(SIGU) used in buildings, either marketed by domestic manufactures or imported, must obtain the certificate for compulsory product certification and be applied China Compulsory Certification (CCC) Mark before they are released, imported or marketed. From July 12, 2006, there is a transition time of eighteen months. This paper makes an introduction to the basic application conditions, certification model, application unit, requirements for factory quality assurance ability, certification procedures and time frame for CCC of SIGU.
