Planning and Simulation of Insulating Glass Production Processes

Christian Ridder

Offering system solutions does not merely mean sale of machine and equipment but also an extensive
consulting of the customer in terms of an optimal machine confi guration and integration into the overall process. In this context, consulting can be supported by visual representation of the production process and by logistic evaluation of the machine arrangements and their alternatives. Individualized
products, configuration systems for sales personal are becoming increasingly important. In this paper, a new planning service for configuration, simulation and animation of manufacturing systems is
discussed.

The concept is shown in the context of the production of insulated glass units with high sophisticated production lines.
