Possibilities and Limitations of Warm-edge Systems

Basic physical rules for thermal conductivity through materials used for insulating glass- and window construction are presented. The mathematical calculation for the heat transmission coefficients Ug in an IG-unit and Uw of a window are illustrated by the help of examples. Also the influence of the so-called warm-edge windows in a standard 3 storey- building and its potential ecological influence is illustrated.
