Laminating Glass Cutting; Hot Glass Cutting Process - Cold Glass Cutting Process

PETER LISEC

Laminating glass offers a wide range of performances for various applications. Different places of
installation require the highest possible strength and therefore lifetime of the glass pane. This very vast
demand refers back to the treatment of the glass on its individual points of manufacture.
Sections of importance for laminated glass:
a) Quality of the cut on the glass related to the stress in the laminated glass
b) Quality of the break-out in regard to damages of both glass edges
c) Influence of temperature applied onto the glass edge and the PVB interlayer
d) Cold cutting process of single and multiple interlayers
The hot laminating glass cutting and/or the cold laminating glass cutting process and its implications
in a modern glass processing plant where just-in-time delivery time delivery terms are becoming more
important, particularly in costs.
