The Designers Perspective of NiS Inclusions

A brief discussion on the impact of NiS
inclusions in installed glass is provided. The
difference between the two options, namely heat
soaked tempered glass and heat strengthened
glass is discussed.
There is a need for the glass industry to share
its combined knowledge and appreciation of the
various solutions available to the designer. This
will assist the designer in making the correct
choice, and not be reliant on hope that his
specification will work satisfactorily without a NiS
induced fracture problem.
