New Approach of Bended Glass Panels at the Nordkettenbahn in Innsbruck

New approaches in the usage of glass in building envelopes. On the one hand side the research in glass material and further on construction regulations is essential. Based on this, connection devices in combination with glass and other materials should always stick together with safety concepts which need to be elaborated for the individual project. Due to the design concept, possible glass geometries and glass production processes need to be discussed early in the design process. This paper will demonstrate the design process and its realization of four glass roofs of the Nordkettenbahn in Innsbruck, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
