As You See, You See Nothing - Built with Glass

The entire reception area as well as the main entrance to Novartis Campus, located in Basel, Switzerland, were redesigned. In the newly created park located above an underground parking, 4 stairwells to the car park measuring approx. 11 x 2.2 x 2.6 m above ground and 8 m below ground were designed. Architecture, art, structural glass construction and a corresponding structural design characterize the “natural” look of the building. Glass engineering was a main element in the design of the structural glass walls on park grounds. The steel roofs designed with great attention to detail and extremely minimized are invariably supported by the load-bearing glass walls on three sides. The static principle of a fixed-end support for glass has a central significance from a structural perspective.
