Current pyrolytic coating processes are limited by the growth rate and the raw material conversion efficiency is typically poor. The authors present a novel process where both the growth rate and the conversion efficiency can be significantly increased. In addition to low-e coatings the process can be utilized for other glass coatings and for modifying the glass surface and improving the surface properties of glass.
