An Intelligent Production Scheduling System for Glass Industries

Production planning and scheduling plays a major role in manufacturing enterprises of any kind. To some extent, finding solutions to the problems that production supervisors majorly face in their daily activity is a challenge. Moreover, in order to help management
in decision making activities and eliminate human errors, especially in production planning related tasks, a production planning and scheduling system, well adapted to glass processing industry, has been designed. The main feature of this system is that it is intelligent and makes use of learning mechanisms. In other words, it can gain knowledge over time through which optimum production plan are generated in a short time suited for dynamic systems such as glass industries. Benefitting from above-mentioned characteristics, using this tool will shorten decision making time, and as a result, it will reduce cost dramatically.
