The rack organisation in the cutting area sets the pace for an IG company’s entire production control – this is where the optimisation of output and processes begins. We want to present a completely new approach, questioning bulky sorting systems and space-consuming harp rack organisations: A dynamic buffer, controlled by the ALBAT+WIRSAM Optimisation system DynOpt, produces the required produc-tion sequence, combined with excellent yield, optimum flexibility and small requirements regarding space and investment costs. Rush jobs can be smoothly added to the job on hand. Based on this idea, HEGLA was the first machine manufacturer to show a prototype of such a dynamic buffer under the name SortJet at the Glasstec 2004. Bystronic will follow with a dynamic buffer named first’sort.
The enhancements will influence the entire production process. The user will get a remarkable better yield. The sophisticated glass handling in cutting and reduced sorting due to direct packing in the ship-ping area allow to save up to 50% on labour costs.
