New developments in glazing for a better use of solar energy in buildings
Dr. Andreas Gombert

The trend is for automotive glass designs to
require complex shapes and high optical quality
at the same time.
Recently, optimization of process operation
using simulation techniques, which is called
“Virtual Production”, has become an important
subject for industrialists.
Prototype products are now in general made
on a computer, which is called “Virtual
Prototyping”, to identify faults and modify the
design in the period before making the actual
prototype car.
This paper describes how shorter, low cost
and high quality design, prototype and mass
production is achieved using simulation
techniques in collaboration with customers.
