India is a fast developing and emerging economy where construction industry is growing at a healthy rate of 10% - 11% each year since 2003. Majority of these developments are triggered by sectors such as IT & IT Services, plus corporate expansions and the increasing presence of Multinational companies. The local façade glazing industry is at a relatively early stage of development. However market demand is high and growing with challenging projects. The Indian glazing market is growing at a rate of 11-13% per annum since 2003, this growth rate is expected to sustain till 2010.
These put pressure on façade specialist’s contractors and consultants to get most out of available resources to successfully implement great designs. The author is sharing his experiences and views of the glazing industry as it may be seen from different perspectives.
