The takeover and subsequent closure of Yencken Sandy Glass Industries Pty Ltd by T & K Glass Company in late 1985 (later a part of Pilkington Australia Limited) saw an opportunity for an Australian independent glazing company to be established.
Don Mathieson had the foresight to undertake this venture, and together with 24 of his glass industry colleagues as foundation shareholders, the formation of a new glazing company emerged.

Don Mathieson & Staff Glass Pty Ltd commenced trading on the 22nd January, 1986 on leased property, at their existing address in Clayton.

Since then, the company has moved from solely glazing, to merchandising, manufacturing and processing.
