The constantly rising pressure on costs in manufacturing of insulating glass requires new solutions in plant and software concepts. The rising costs on expensive, coated LowE glasses and the demand for shorter delivery times requires new logistics concepts. A innovative solution on the machine level to overcome this problems is the ”dynamic“ sorting system. Opposite today’s used solution of space intensive „static “sorting equipment this new concept offers substantial advantages regarding deeper capital outlays, better production sequence, optimal glass yield with minimal space requirement. The “dynamic“ sorting system does not provide any longer sorting positions for every single glass of an optimization run, the sorting positions within the dynamic buffer are occupied “several times” within an optimization run. This leads to a much better utilization of the production hall. The system requires thereby also new, optimizing algorithms and planning methods.
