In 1976, a multidisciplinary practice of consulting engineers was created by an engineer named Ted Happold and a group of like-minded people who believed in a holistic approach to problem-solving in the construction industry. Buro Happold's guiding principle is still now what it was then that good designs result from tapping the synergy between art (architecture) and engineering (the application of science in construction).
