Glazing elements in façades are usually designed to carry only out of plane loads. The interesting point in this project is that the glazing elements also carry high in plane loads to minimize the number of steel elements and their cross sections. As no verification rules for this purpose exist, we had to step beyond the level of today’s codes in civil engineering. |
